Stolen Paintings Recovered

(N Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) ROME, January 13. Police have recovered stolen painting and statues worth £258,500 in a house at Ostia, near Rome. The find included a painting of Christ by the 17th century artist Guercino, valued at more than £28,700, which was stolen from the home of Countess Laura Spezia at Perugia last September. The occupier of the Ostia house, named as Cesario Arie, aged 52, and three other men were arrested and charged with banding together for criminal purposes and receiving stolen goods.
