Strong Bracket For Invercargill Leg

INVERCARGILL. Yarn and Ocean Brigade, both of which raced well on the holiday circuit, will form a strong bracket for the Lorneville Handicap, first leg of the double when the Invercargill Trotting Club’s meeting opens tomorrow. The second leg will be on the Thomson Memorial Handicap, for which Gay Paree, Garrison Girl and Tracey Hanover have most in their favour. The feature event on the card will be the Southern Stakes, which has drawn an outstanding field of three-year-old pacers. Rain during the week has not affected the track, which will be firm. Selections: — 3.30 p.m.—Monowai Trot Handicap: Kate Smith, Story Opal, Stylish Major.
