Thresher Shark Caught

A Runanga housewife hooked a 6ft thresher shark at Point Elizabeth on Wednesday afternoon. She called to her husband nearby and after about a 20-minute tussle he brought the fish ashore.

He cut off the head in order to display it to his friends and left the carcase on the rocks near where it was caught. About an hour later a much bigger shark snapped up the carcase.
