Hooked Shark Got Away
(N.Z. Press Association) OAMARU, Jan. 12. A 16ft shark, estimated to weigh 500 to 6001 b. wasi hooked half a mile off shore at the Kaike, Moeraki, 20 miles from Oamaru today. 1 Neill Dick, son of Mr A. D j Dick, M.P., and Mr G. T. Gillies, hooked the fish and drew it in to the side of their launch before it broke the line when attempts were made to put a rope around its tail. Mr Dick said he thought the shark was probably a blue mako.
