Attacked By Sting-ray
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 11. A surfer was attacked by a sting-ray today off Ruakaka Beach, Whangarei. One of his wrists was slashed in two places and the surfer, Robert Hemingway, was taken to hospital at Whangarei.
A member of the Ruakaka Surf Life-saving Club, Mr Hemingway had been thrown from a surf board and was struggling to regain his board in shallow water when he was attacked.
