Dead Woman Named
(N Z Press Association) WESTPORT, Jan. 11. Police have released the name of the woman killed when two cars collided in the Buller Gorge yesterday. She was: Dorothy Jean Barnes, aged 43, of 5 Wall stre°t, Hamilton.
Her husband, Edward Aldridge Barnes, aged 56, suffered serious head and chest injuries and their son, Scott Blackie Barnes, aged 13, was slightly hurt. The occupants of the other car were Anthony Richard Evans, agtd 24, a commercial traveller, of Auckland, serious leg injuries: Ross Lee Baxter, aged 20, of Wellington, serious head injuries; and Norman Alan Codd, aged 21, of Wellington, serious head injuries. All were admitted to Nelson Hospital, which today reported the condition of Messrs Evans, Baxter and Codd as satisfactory and that of Mr Barnes as fairly satisfactory. Scott Barnes did mt need hospital treatment.
