NEW OIL-DRILLING PLATFORM FOR THE NORTH SEA.—The Sea Quest, a new £3,500,000 drilling platform, shortly after it was launched at the Harland and Wolff yard in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The platform will be towed close to the spot where the Sea Gem, another drilling platform owned by British Petroleum, collapsed with the loss of several lives on December 27. The Sea Quest, of a completely different design, has been made to withstand waves up to 60ft high.
