SNOW DISRUPTS TRAVEL IN THE UNITED STATES.—Motorists digging their cars out of snowdrifts on a road near Lynden, in the State of Washington, a few days ago. In the Cascade mountains area the snow kept 6000 pupils away from school. Snow has also been falling in New York, where it threatens to stop traffic at a time when the city transport services are halted because of a strike.
