lONESCO COMING

Three-Week Visit (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Jan. 10. The playwright Eugene lonesco, one of the foremost figures in the “theatre of the absurd” movement, will pay a three-week visit to New Zealand. He is expected to arrive in Wellington on Wednesday, January 19, in time to attend the New Zealand Students’ Association’s congress at Curious Cove, Marlborough. The association originally invited Mr lonesco to attend the congress as a guest speaker, along with prominent New Zealand artists and politicians. However, he will now spend three weeks in New Zealand under the joint sponsorship of the Queen Elizabeth Arts Council and a commercial organisation in addition to attending the congress.
