HELICOPTER TRAINING

Five Pilots Chosen (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 10. Three Army and two Air Force officers have been selected for the first helicopter conversion course for service pilots at Hobsonville later this month.

Squadron Leader G. C. Hubbard, a New Zealander who before Christmas returned from a series of courses in the United States, and Flight Lieutenant K. Claydon, a Royal Air Force helicopter specialist who is on loan to New Zealand, will train the pilots. Mastering the different flying techniques of the helicopter would take up to three months, the helicopter project officer, Squadron Leader K. Henry, said today.
