THE CARL ZEISS GLASSWORKS at Jena, East Germany, which were established more than 100 years ago. After the Second World War the board of management and about 100 scientists and technicians were removed to the west by United States forces. As well as the original works at Jena, which exports to more than 100 countries. West Germany has its Carl Zeiss Foundation at Heidenheim and factory at Oberkochen.
