Bowlers took most of the honours when the Ellesmere inter-club cricket competition was resumed yesterday. Only the Dunsandel batsmen, with not out half centuries by M. Murray and M. Frampton, scored well while the Dunsandel off-splnner, P. Buckenham, was the most successful bowler with seven for 34. Scores:—
Southbridge 140 (M. Moorhead 81; M. Chamberlain 4/45, B. Free 4/29) lost to Leeston 141/5 (R. Taylor 62, B. Free 24, M. Chamberlain 28 not out) by five wickets.
Weedons 136 (J. Meyer 71, E. Chatterton 21; P. Buckenham 7/34) lost to Dunsandel 143/3 (M. Murray 63 not out, M. Frampton 54 not out) by seven wickets.
Lincoln 188/6 dec. (F. Quirk 76 not out, N. Wallis 45, R. Kerr 20, R. Page 21: D. Mcßae 3/37) drew with Irwell 104/6 (D. Doak 42, J. Lay 29).
