Three outright wins was a feature of the sixth round of the Ashley cricket competition on Saturday. Amberley had a well-deserved win against Carleton: Woodend scored quickly to beat Rangiora; and Kalapol extended its lead by beating Ohoka, which had led on the first innings. Scores: —
Carleton 82 and 102 (A. O’Loughlin 21, H. Ivory 21, L. O'Loughlin 19: R. Bradley 4/20, G Coull 3/18) lost outright to Amberley 97 and 93/7 (M. Logan 30 A. O’Loughlin 3/26). Ohako 129 and 12a (P. Vickery 25, R. Fear 77 not out; R. Rodgers 3/39), lost outright to Kaiapoi 117 and 139/7 (C. Merrin 35, P. Williams 33; R. Scott 6/44). ..... . Woodend 179 and 123/3 dec. (R Merrin 47, L. Eder 31), won outright from Rangiora 11* (M. Began 6/26, G. Creamer 3/43) and 105 (A. Pascoe 50; A. Merrin 4/17, M. Began 4/37).
