CLUB CRICKET When 4 Equals 2, 6 Becomes 4
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The unusual circumstance of batsmen scoring only two runs for boundaries and four for sixes was seen when Cornwall met Eden-Roskill in an Auckland senior club cricket match at Cornwall Park on Saturday. Rain had made the main pitch unfit for play, and it was decided to start the match on an emergency strip situated half-way between the main pitch and the trees. Because the boundaries were as little as 35 yards from the wicket in some places it was decided to restrict the scoring for boundaries. Eastern and North Harbour were refused the permission of the groundsman to begin their match at Devonport. Points: Eastern 39, EdenRoskill 32, Papatoetoe 28, North Harbour, Cornwall 26, University 23, Western Suburbs 21, Grafton 20. Scores:
