SEARCH FOR CAR
Police Ask For
Help
The police are anxious to find a stolen car which, it is thought, has been fitted with stolen number-plates. The car is a 1953 Vauxhall Velox, painted olive green, with a radio-aerial hole in the right front mudguard. The stone-protection plates normally fitted to the leading edge of the rear wheel arch, just behind the rear doors, are missing. The car was taken from Manchester street on November 8 last year.
The number plates, AK8938, were stolen from New Brighton the same day. The plates originally fitted to the stolen car have since been found in a city rubbish dump. The Christchurch C. 1.8. asks that anyone seeing a car with the number-plates AK8938, or knowing of a 1953 Vauxhall Velox fitting the description that has recently been painted, should get in touch with the nearest police station as soon as possible.
