STATUS OF ATHLETES

The N.S.W. Amateur Athletic Association will investigate allegations that three athletes and an official may have infringed their amateur status, the Sydney “Daily Telegraph” reported yesterday. The secretary of the A.A.U., Mr Arthur Hodsdon, said he had received verbal reports that a suspended athlete had competed in a recognised meeting with amateur athletes, and that an official of the N.S.W. association had acted as starter for the races.
