Army Revolt In Dominica
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) SANTO DOMINGO, January 7. Military revolt broke out in the Dominican Republic last night, the “New York Times” News Service reported. Up to midnight, no American or other foreign troops were involved, it said.

no intention of stepping down. The President was at his suburban home with his family and a few aides. A few armed guards lounged around the driveway entrance. Colonel Caamano De:io was to become military attache in London, and Commodore Rivera Caminero was to be Naval attache in Washington. The Israeli Ambassador (Mr Benjamin Varon) said the invitation was extended at the end of November, and had no political significance. President Godoy has been under great pressure from Caamano’s group and the Dominican Revolutionary Party of the former President (Mr Juan Bosch), both of which have broad popular support to subdue the armed forces.
