Scarborough Road
Sir, —I support the recent letters on parking on Scarborough road. For considerable distances this road is indeed reduced to a one-way thoroughfare because of inconsiderate permanent parking by many people. This is a through road to a popular resort and eventually a bad accident will occur by the too-fast downhill traffic which is forced to travel on its wrong side failing to give way to uphill traffic. It is not necessary to create parking places; they are already available. There are many wide areas suitable for parking, leaving a two-way road for traffic. A few no-parking notices in specific place; would solve the problem. The traffic department has been appealed to several times to control parking on Scarborough road, so far without result. Can something be done before it is too late?—Yours, etc., SCARBOROUGH RESIDENT. January 7, 1966.
