June 15. The New Zealand cricket team easily defeated Saskatchewan in an exhibition match yesterday with a show of solid batting strength, the Associated Press reported. The visitors won by an innings and 17 runs. After dismissing Saskatchewan for 101 in their first innings. New Zealand declared at 175 runs for three wickets more than two hours before stumps were to be drawn. They shot Saskatchewan out for 57 in the second innings. The victory gave the Kiwis a record of eight wins, two losses and one draw in 11 games of the 39-game tour that ends on August 21. New Zealand plays in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
