CHANGING NEEDS
Long-Term Patients There had been an increasing demand for accommodation for long-term cases in the 16 years since the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association opened its first hosi pitaL said Mr N. F. GreenJ slade (a member of the codmittee) at the annual meeting. Originally founded for short-term, convalescent eases, an average of one-third tc ’ onerhalf of the patients now at the hospital were long-term. Miss M. E. Rae (lady superintendent), outlined the history of service behind the association. and expressed appreeiation to the many individuals and organisations who had assisted and supported it. The committee fer the ensuing years is:— Chairman. Mr L. D. Cotterill: committee. Mrs 3. Ferrier, Miss C. Pratt Miss B. Webb. Messrs H. B. Anderson. E. T. Beaven. R. G. Compton. G. N. Francis. N. F. Greenslade. S. E. Mair. 3 B. Hay. Dr. W. L Paterson, Mr Turner i Smith: treasurer. Mr R. G 'Compton: secretary. Mr C. B J. Johnstone: Lady Superintendent Miss M. E. Rae. Musical Programme.—The women's group of the Royal Commonwealth met at the home of Mrs K. H. Bartlett recently. A musical programme arranged by Mesdames A. E. Vile and R. E. Drayton included items by - Mrs Colin McLachlan (violin solo): Mrs Grace Blair , (vocal): Miss Edna Neville (recitations), Mesdames W. E. Olds and A M. Vile were the. accompanists. Mrs D. E. Ames thanked the artists.
