£1000 FOR GOLF
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. The New Zealand Golf Foundation has received a £lOOO grant for each of the next three years from the New Zealand Sports Goods In. dustries’ Association. The first £lOOO was presented tonight by the president of the association (Mr J P. Walker) to. the chairman of the New Zealand Golf Council (Mr G. P. Roberts). The aim of the grant is to encourage young people to play golf. “It will enable the foundation to expand considerably and will be a great boost to coaching,” said Mr D. G. Sutton, secretary of . the golf foundation today.
