CITY ROADING PLANS FOR CURRENT YEAR

The City Council has estimated an expenditure of £170,800 this year for street construction and widening. Last year it spent £123,261, which was over the estimate.

St. Albans.—Greers road; £2950; Rossall street Widening from Fulton road to Leinster road, £2800; Westminster street reconstruction, Aylesford street to Flockton street, £3600: Nancy avenue, Innes road to Norah street, metalling and sealing, £1200; Ethne street, metalling and sealing, £1200; Heaton street shoulders, £2300; Mahars road, Westminster street to Innes road, reconstruction, £3700; Harewood road, Greers road to Wilmot street, reconstruction, £4200; Grassmere street, Main North road to city boundary, reconstruction, £4500.

In the case of Greers road and Harewood road the cost of the work will be shared equally with the Waimairi County Council. Sydenham.—Roscoe street formation, £1000; Mowbrav street shoulders, £1600; Tennyson street shoulders, £2700; Coleridge street shoulder, £2100: Kent street widening, part, £l9OO. The Roscoe street costs will be shared with the Heathcote County Council.

Spreydon.—Upland road, metalling and sealing, £700; Wyn street reconstruction. £4500: Maryhill avenue reconstruction, £4800; Samuel street, Wyn street to Marion street, reconstruction, £3900; Gainsborough street reconstruction, £4600.

Linwood.—Fleete street, Birchfield avenue to New Brighton road, reconstruction, £2000; Mundys road reconstruction, £3200; Liggins street reconstruction, £2600; Reaby street reconstruction. £1300; Parish street reconstruction, £1100; Goodman street reconstruction, £1300; Sabina street, Hammersley avenue to Hercules street, reconstruction, £2600; Broomfield terrace, metalling and sealing, £1000; Heywood terrace-Draper street realignment, £750. Woolston.—Dyers road extension as limited access road,

£12,800; Opawa road, £12,000; Linwood avenue by Hargood street, reconstruction, £5000; Kearneys road completion to Pages road, £1500; Barton street and Lane street widening, £2000; Dyers road-Maces road intersection improvement, £1000; Edmond street reconstruction, £1700; Bass street reconstruction, £1500; Okeover street reconstruction, £650. New Brighton.—Beach road part widening, £1800; Marine parade, Bowhill road to Beach road, reconstruction, £9000; Ida street reconstruction, £lOOO, Convoy street reconstruction and widening, £600; Estuary road near Beatty street, reconstruction, £2400; Beatty street, Estuary road to Domain terrace, £1450; New Brighton road, Bower bridge to Wattle drive, reconstruction, £l3OO.
