POST-PRIMARY INSPECTOR
Mr C. B. Cornish Appointed
Mr C. B. Cornish, a senior departmental head at the Christchurch Technical College, has been appointed an inspector of post-primary schools in the southern region of the Education Department. Since 1950 he has been at the Technical College apart from two years when he taught at the Riccarton High School. He. has taught tech-’ nical subjects for many years.
For four years during the war Mr Cornish was a transport pilot in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. . Mr Cornish was one of the first teachers to go overseas under the Woolf-Fisher trust. He examined all aspects of advanced technical training. Mr Cornish has had considerable experience in the inservice training of teachers and has been chairman of a number of refresher courses. He succeeds Mr A. J. Warren, who recently retired from the inspectorate.
