Arts And Entertainment SUCCESSFUL THRILLER
‘Dial M For Murder? “It Is probably true that a good thriller will usually date ■very quickly when it uses a very immediate manner 'of writing and a thoroughly up-to-date manner of conversation for tne time in which it appears,” writes John Kim, the Canterbury Repertory Theatre Society’s resident producer, of “Dial M for Murder,” which the society will present in the Repertory Theatre from June 20 to June 27 and at Burnham on July 8. Mr Kim says it becomes necessary to decide whether the thriller ought to be treated as a period piece or kept fresh and experienced at first hand. Repertory is attempting the latter course and Trevor Pitt has designed a set in keeping. The play was originally written for television but has since been successful both on stage and screen.
The International Organ Week will be held in Bruges between July 25 and August 1 and will include concerts, recitals and a congress at which there will be opportunities for study with prominent soloists.
