Eighteen months after the opening of the Maui' hostel at Kaikoura, the North Canterbury branch of the Youth Hostels Association has derided to add two,bunk-rooms. This will bring the number of beds available to 30.

The association hopes a contract will be let soon for building the framework, and that volunteer work parties will complete the extensions before Christmas.

Committee members who visited the hostel recently said it was still providing accommodation for a large number of oveAeas members of the International Youth Hostels Federation each month, as well as a steady stream.of New Zealanders. Normal maintenance will continue.
