Competition Basketball
The Canterbury Basketball Association’s senior competition is in an interesting position, and after two rounds only Kakatai remains unbeaten. Today Teacher's College B meets Kakatai. It is unfortunate that many of the Teacher's College team are on holiday, but it may call on players from the A team who have the bye this week. However, they will not have the combination to counteract the improving Kakatai side.
The Technical A v. West Old Girls’ game should be
the most interesting game today. The teams are evenly matched but West Old Girls' goal-shooting is more reliable than Technical’s. If West Old Girls produce the form they did in their win over Sacred Heart, they should beat Technical, which as yet is not playing as a team. The young Sacred Heart team has had two hard games and is developing well. It will be favoured to beat St. Nicholas which, although playing well at times, has developed the long throw which requires more speed to be of advantage.
