LECTURER.OR SENIOR LECTURER IN LIVESTOCK HUSBANDRY. APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Livestock Husbandry in the Faculty of Rural Science. The appointee wiil be required to assist with the lecturing in Livestock Husbandry .help in the supervision of projects being undertaken by advanced students and to conduct research. Excellent laboratory and field facilities are available in the Faculty’s new building, the University farm-lands and. through the co-operation of local graziers, or district grazing properties. Applicants should possess an appropriate University degree and have post-graduate research experience. A broad knowledge of animal production is an essential requirement; specialised knowledge in some of the following fields would be an advantage. Animal climatology, growth of meat animals, meat studies, reproductive physiology, augmentation of fertility, use of hormones in animal production.( dairy and pig husbandry, artificial insemination. The salary range for Lecturers is JCAI73O x 105-EA2435, and for Senior Lecturers £A2550 x 95-£A3OOO. In addition a cost of living allowance, at present amounting to £A36, is payable. The University of New South Wales, wishes to appoint a Technical Officer to the School of Chemistry, Broadway. The chosen officer will work in the Chemical Spectroscopy Laboratory, which is under the direction of Dr. R. L. Werner. He will be required to supervise the routine operations of the laboratory and to conduct investigations in conjunction with the work of members of the University Staff and post-gra-duate students. He will also be responsible for the maintenance of spectroscopic equipment. Applicants should have a degree or diploma in Chemistry or Physics and should have had practical experience in at least one spectroscopic field. Some knowledge of electronics would be fin advantage.
