Nominations For Hurunui Seat
Nominations for the Hurunui by-election closed at noon yesterday, three names being forwarded to the Returning Officer (Mr C. F Lundy). The by-election will be on June 10 The candidates are:—
Herbert Elmer Lorraine Pickering, a farmer, of Motunau Beach (National) nominated by Messrs A Burke, A. Ashworth, R. A Bowron. H. A. Dawber, P A Hinks. J. A. Ivory and L. D J. Smith. Arthur Alexander Adcock, of Lower Styx road. Belfast, a public servant (Labour) nominated by Messrs J Johnston. C J Devlin. J E Dogget, O B Johnston. H M Smith and A. H Cunningham.
Malcolm Jack Clark, of Waikari. an engineer (Social Credit), nominated by Messrs W. L. Cate. J R Richardson J. Marshall. E. W. Cate, and C. D. Lange.
