COUNTY CLERK CHOSEN

Appointment By Heathcote

Mr W. H. Scrimgeour has been appointed clerk to the Heathcote County Council. The appointment was announced by the council last evening.

Mr Scrimgeour has been County Clerk of Murchison for two years and a half. He expects to take up his new duties on July 1. Mr Scrimgeour was educated at the Collingwood

Primary School and Nelson College. He was for 19 years with the Nelson City Council where he rose from office boy to engineer’s clerk From 1942 to 1944 he served with the New Zealand Temporary Staff. He has represented Nelson at cricket and bowls, and coached Rugby teams in Nelson and Murchison. He is a life member of the Nelson Rugby Football Club.
