RED WIND DEAD

Collapse At Rosehill

Red Wind, winner of the A.J.C. Metropolitan last October, dropped dead on the track at Rosehill yesterday morning. Trained by R. Mills, the gelding collapsed at the end of a six-furlong gallop and died within a few minutes.

An A.J.C. stipendiary steward. Mr D. J. Ryan, who was on the spot, said Red Wind had looked all right after he finished the gallop and there had been no signs of bleeding. Red Wind was a five-year-old gelding by Emperor from Light Lady, raced by Mr S. O. King.
