Cerebral Palsy

Sir.—“ For Guidance" has made it clear that, im Christchurch the education of the cerebral palsied is being taken care of at the school in Worcester street. But not quite so clear is the fact that a gap in the welfare of these people is the lack of a home where adult cases can be accommodated. When parents or guardians die. or for other reasons find it impossible to keep them at home, there is nowhere other than the men- | tai homes for these folk. The [Adult Cerebral Palsy Society I was formed by a group of ■mothers to supply this need iThey aim to build a home, and the target is £30.000 One person suggested that if every woman went without a new hat or dress this year, giving the amount to our need, the sum would soon be reached. We need only £1 from 30,000 women to be. able to start building within a’few months.—Yours, etc., (Mrs) LENORE OAKLEY, Secretary, Adult Cerebral Palsy Society. May 16. 1861.
