(NZ. Press Asm—Copyright) SYDNEY, May 16. The Australian Rugby Union has banned the use of shoulder pads on the eve of its most extensive international season. The New South Wales Rugby Union executive last night instruced the Referees' Association to ban anything but medical padding ih future matches. The International Rugby Board amended the rules of the code to ban shoulder pads from the beginning of 1960. Enforcement of the ban has come on the eve of international series against Fiji and South Africa.
