DOSING STRIPS

Improvements Suggested

Improvements in the hydatids dosing strips at Lyttelton were suggested by the hydatids control officer for Banks Peninsula (Mr J. Callister), when he spoke to the Lyttelton Borough Council on Monday evening. The Lyttelton dosing strips were, in his opinion, the dirtiest on Banks Peninsula, and he strongly recommended that improvements be made. He also suggested the provision of shelters on the strip to accommodate elderly dog owners during wet weather. Dogs in Lyttelton should be supervised. and not allowed to wander indiscriminately. Mr Callister said. The deputy-Mayor, Cr. A. R. Champion, thanked Mr Callister for his talk, and said that action was already being taken to improve the Lyttelton dosing strip. Film slides on hydatids were shown the council after the talk.
