Further Rise In Sterling

Sterling and other exchange held by the Reserve Bank rose £l.'3m to £ 12.3 m in the week ended May 10. The previous week the rise was £ 1.7 m. Borrowing by the trading banks fell £o.6m to £ 15.2 m and trading banks’ deposits rose £o.9m to £6lm. Other changes were minor.
