OVERSEAS INCOME

Pamphlet On Taxes

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 16. An information pamphlet was now available from the Island Revenue Department offices to assist New Zealand taxpayers who derived overseas income from company dividends and interest, the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) said today. Taxpayers with overseas investments were affected by changes made to the law in recent years and also by agreements made with some overseas countries to avoid double taxation. This pamphlet had been produced to make the effect of these changes clear, he said. The Minister said it was important that adequate information and details of changes in taxation requirements should be readily available to taxpayers and he was at present looking into proposals to produce information pamphlets to assist other classes of taxpayers where this was required.
