RHODESIAN TALKS
African Party Walks Out
INZ Press Assn.—Copyright) SALISBURY, May 16 The talks in Salisbury on the constitutional future of Southern Rhodesia will continue in spite of the walk-out by the National Democratic Party’s president, Mr Joshua Nkomo, and the party delegates. Mr Nkomo said he walked out yesterday because the Southern Rhodesian Premier (Sir Edgar Whitehead) had refused to discuss the land question on the party's terms. A statement issued after the morning session of the talks said that Mr Nkomo had walked out because he felt he could not continue discussions on land without first consulting the African people.
