Situation.—A shallow depression to the west of the North Island is moving south-eastwards and should cross the north of the South Island during the day. A cold front is moving north-eastwards over the south of the South Island. Forecast;— Nelson and Marlborough.—Light winds at first but north oi north-west winds developing and becoming fresh about Cook Strait; variable skies with some occasional rain; temperatures moderate to mild. Outlook: scattered showers. Buller and Westland.—Cloudy with light winds at first but moderate west or south-west winds and changeable, showery weather developing; temperatures becoming cooler. Outlook:.showers. Canterbury.—Light winds and cloudy weather at first with some rain in the Alps and scattered drizzle patches about Banks Peninsula; scattered rain becoming general during the day with moderate south-westerly winds developing during the afternoon or evening; temperatures moderate. Outlook: showers.
