THIS BIG METAL DESK, 9ft by 6ft, is among the exhibits at the forty-second exhibition of interior decoration at the Grand Palais, Paris. The desk has a builtin “memophone” (at the press of a button anyone in the building can be summoned) and a tape recorder linked with the secretary. The two television screens on the wall enable the executive to read any paper held up to the camera by his secretary, and the other shows what is going on in the factory or workshop.
