Crippled Children

Sir, —l noticed in “The Press” some weeks ago a report of a meeting of the Crippled Children Society which said that the Government was going to withdraw its 20 per cent, subsidy or. artificial limbs for cripple' children. I know the national finances are in a parlous state, but surely this is a very poor way to economise. I would l ; ke to suggest: (1) a cut of 20 per cent, in all M.P.'s salaries: (2) that, •he whole of an M.P.'s salary be made taxable the same aothers’. I am sure these measures would more than cover the cost and would be quite popular with the electors. who are mostly convinced they are not getting value for their taxes.—Yours, etc.. H. R. HOLLIS.
