Twenty - seven drivers qualified at the week-end for the Indianapolis 500-mile memorial day race on May 30. The final trial next weekend will determine the other six starters for the event. The fastest qualifier so far is E. Sachs (Pennsylvania), who won the pole position yesterday at an average speed of 147.48 miles an hour.
