CARNTVAL WEEK
Advertising Plans
Planning for the advertising campaign for this year's Carnival Week in Christchurch is now almost completed, and within the next two weeks, local organisations will be asked to cooperate. Similar arrangements to those of last year were being made, said the Canterbury Public Relations Officer iMr E G Beckett) yesterday. This year. Carnival Week will be from November 4 to November 12. “Although it appeared that our advertising in Australia was wasted, it now seems to be paying off.'’ said M" B.ckett About 3500 posters and folders will be distributed throughout New Zealand and Australia, with a few being sent to other areas in the Pacific. "It is our intention to consolidate those fixtures which nave proved successful in the past. We feel the river carnival is a ‘must’ after last year, and it is encouraging that other groups are now offering their assistance and contributing to the week’s activities.” said Mr Beckett Although the best accommodation at hotels was usually booked during the week, no-one had ever been turned away. This year, even more hotel accommodation was expected to be available. i
