MOUNTAIN RETREAT.—The Canterbury Winter Sports Club's renovated and remodelled low-level lodge on the lower fringe of the Craigieburn beech forest. The building is near the club’s private skating rink about five miles from the Main West road. Two other huts are above the forest, one of them at more than 5000ft on the ski field.
