Teenage Problem; ‘Action Necessary’

OAMARU, May 15.
“The Government of New Zealand will to do something shortly in regard to the teenage problem before it is too late,” the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. T. L. Hayman) told former pupils of the Maheno School who attended the 85th anniversary celebrations of the school at the weekend. Mr Hayman represented the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake). “We have got to do some collective thinking and get the youngsters’ feet on the right road again,” he said. “We must take action and we must take it soon.”
