HILLARYS STROKE

High Climbs Ended ?

(N ZP.A -Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. May 15 The conqueror of Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary, may have to give up his ambition to scale the other great peaks of the Himalayas, according to a “Daily Express’’ reporter in Katmandu. He said that as a result of Sir Edmund Hillary’s slight stroke while leading an expedition to climb 27.790foot Mount Makalu, doctors believed he should not attempt anything higher than 14.000 feet in future. Saying that Sir Edmund Hillary's speech had been impaired for two days and he had been given oxygen regularly. the reporter added: “Only his superb physical condition gave him the reserve energy to sfuggle down the mountain to a more favourable altitude" The British United Press reported last night that Sir Edmund Hillary's speech had now been restored to clarity. He was under treatment by Dr James Milledge, who had accompanied him from Mt. Makalu to Shershon village in the Barun Valley. Sir Edmund Hillary was resting there.
