Death After Rugby Match
(N Z Press Association) ROTORUA. May 15. *A Rugby player died in the Rotorua Hospital this morning after an injury suffered yesterday in a social game He was: Raymond Bishop, aged 31. married, with three children, of Basley road. Owhata. Mr Bishop was a member of a team from Firth Concrete (Rotorua). Ltd., which played a New Zealand Railways team at Arawa Park. It is understood that Mr Bishop was kicked on the head. He was admitted to hospital with severe head injuries. In the same Rugby fixture last year, a player, J. Davis, died on the field after swallowing his tongue.
