City Man’s Tour Post

Mr Laurence Hayston left yesterday for Wellington to take up an appointment as advance manager for the New Zealand Theatre Company’s tour of "Romeo and Juliet." Mr Hayston has been active in Christchurch amateur theatre for the last six years as South Island vicepresident and ChristchurchNorth Canterbury area secretary of the British Drama League, a committee member of the Christchurch Operatic Society, Phoenix Theatre, and the Little Film Society. For many years, until late 1959, Mr Hayston was engaged in journalism in Christchurch, interrupted by two years in cinema management in the North Island in 1953 and 1954.
