Christchurch’s Four Days
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 14. Regular transmission days for television, when it starts in Wellington and Christchurch, will be Mondays, Wednesdays. Fridays, and Sundays, said the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr Kinsella' today. This would apply during the preliminary experimental period of a month after the start of television transmissions in each of these cities, he said Christchurch is scheduled to have its first television transmission on June 1 and Wellington. on July 1. Because June 1 is a Thursday, not a scheduled day for television, the first week of television in Christchurch will be Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, thereafter reverting to normal transmission days. Similarly, in the case of Wellington, as July 1 is a Saturday, there will be television transmissions that week on Saturday and Sunday, followed after that by the regular schedule.
