TWO CARS COLLIDE
One Killed, Two Injured
(N Z Press Association) MASTERTON, May 14. A Petone man was killed and two other persons injured when two cars collided just south of the Waingawa bridge on the MastertonCarterton highway at 4.30 pm. on Friday. He was: William Jeffcoate. of Sydney street, Petone. The driver of the car in which Mr Jeffcoate was travelling was Mr E. J. Rowell, of Fitzherbert street. Petone. He suffered a fractured nose, suspected concussion, bruises and lacerations He was admitted to the Masterton Hospital and his condition yesterday morning was reported as satisfactory. The other driver. Mrs L. L. Laing, of Kaiwaiwai. Featherston, suffered minor injuries and shock. Her condition is satisfactory.
