Well Beaten By Wellington

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 14. Wellington easily outfenced the visiting Australian Universities fencing team at the new Victoria University gymnasium on Saturday. Wellington showed superior fencing from the start of the match, and the Australians were unable to break through. Dominating nearly every match. Wellington won the women’s foil, 9-7, men’s foil, 11- epee. 9-7, and sabre. 12Wellington's team captain. A. A. T. Ellis, gave a brilliant display in the men’s foil, winning all his matches. Though trying hard, the Australians could not match his nimbleness .and expert swordsmanship. The Australian team left for matches in the South Island last evening. The team will return to Wellington for the last match of the tour on May 27.
