North Beach C.W.l—Mrs P. McKechnie, president of the North Beach Country Women’s Institute, welcomed guests and members at the institute's eighth birthday party recently. Sprays were presented to Mesdames C. D Newton. L. M. Kellaway, Anderson, E. Holmes, C. Cor"*sh, N. Candy, M. Morten, w. A. Hodgkinson and W Stevens Perry, of Dorset, England. Hand-painted handkerchiefs were given everv guest and Mesdames R. Cook, B. Guild and J. Roscoe cut the birthday cake. Trophies presented wereIrvine trophy, Mrs L. Broun: or fl° ra l work, Mrs U Margetts. A programme arranged by Mrs B. Winter included a one-act play “Miracle at Blaise." New Brighton League of Mothers.—Officers elected at the annual meeting of the New Brighton League of Mothers were: President, Mrs E. Stringer; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames N. Dolheguy, J. Forward; secretary, Mrs R. Jacobs; treasurer, Mrs N. Harvey; committee, Mesdames H. McDougall, J. Betts, W. Barberel, C. Johnson. R. Quickenden, sen., and R. Quickenden, jun.
